ICPC publishes GWAS analysis on platelet reactivity and cardiovascular response in patients treated with clopidogrel

The GWAS analysis on platelet reactivity and cardiovascular outcome for clopidogrel, the third paper by the International Clopidogrel Pharmacogenomics Consortium (ICPC), has just been published in journal Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics.Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet agent widely used in patients with acute coronary syndrome, percutaneous coronary intervention, or ischemic stroke.

LCD announces coverage for PGx testing under Medicare

DPYD goes live on PharmVar

PharmVar has announced the introduction of DPYD to its database. DYPD is the rate limiting enzyme involved in the catabolism of fluoropyrimidines (5-fluorouracil and capecitabine) which are used in several cancer treatment regimens. Clinical laboratories provide preemptive DPYD genotyping to avoid potentially life-threatening toxicity in patients carrying DPYD risk alleles.
